On Tuesday, June 9, 2009, we will again celebrate Day of Russia in New York. This festive annual international celebration is presented under the auspices of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the United States and various other organizations, including: the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York, the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA, and the New York Office of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation. International luminaries to be honored at this year’s event are former US Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Hon. Sergey V. Garmonin, Consul of the Russian Federation in NY, and Mr. Gordon Lankton, Chairman of the Board of Nypro, Inc.

The goal of this landmark Manhattan event is to foster diplomatic, business and cultural relationships between the United States of America and the Russian Federation, as well as to remind us of the long history of bilateral ties between our two countries.
